Lions are made in practice. Here's what a season at Kings Cross Academy looks like.
Game nights under the lights are the reward for months of preseason work.Royal the Lion greets the team at the gate โ a reminder of who we represent when we walk on the field.

Practice Policies
Practices begin with prayer or a devotion and will not exceed 2.5 hours on school days.
No practices on Sundays or Wednesday evenings to protect church and family time.
Athletes who miss practice unexcused will sit one quarter/half of the next contest.
Rationale
Wilmington Christian publishes a training and practice philosophy and scheduling rules, and Worthington ties discipline to practice participation. I added the Sunday/Wednesday rule because family and church come first in our philosophy.
All forms and fees must be complete one week before the first official practice.
A mandatory parent/athlete meeting is held before each season.
Summer conditioning is encouraged but never required for team selection.
Rationale
St. John Bosco lists 'pre-season requirements' and Gilbert explains registration and sports fees. I added the 'never required' language for summer conditioning so families on vacation or working jobs aren't penalized.
Schedules are posted on the school calendar by the first day of each season; changes are sent by text and email within 24 hours.
Rationale
Gilbert Christian publishes a calendar in its handbook and Temple Christian dedicates a section to game schedules. I chose a three-season structure common to all four sources and committed to a 24-hour change notice to improve communication with parents.
School-issued uniforms and equipment remain Kings Cross Academy property and must be returned within one week of the season's end.
Lost or damaged items are billed at replacement cost; grades and transcripts may be held until resolved.
Rationale
Gilbert, Wilmington and Temple Christian all address uniforms. I adopted Wilmington's school equipment language and Gilbert's return expectation because stewardship of shared property is a biblical value.
Game days: athletes wear team polos or dress attire to school as determined by the coach.
Practice: school-approved athletic wear only; no immodest or offensive clothing.
Hair, jewelry and accessories follow the school handbook and state association rules.
Rationale
Gilbert Christian separates practice attire and game day attire. I followed that model because it is clear and simple, and added modesty language consistent with our school's Christian standards.
