Courage never means ignoring injuries. Our athletes' safety comes before any game.
Our certified athletic trainer evaluates and treats injuries at practices and home games.Coaches are trained in CPR and first aid and carry emergency action plans to every event.

Emergencies
Each venue has a posted Emergency Action Plan (EAP) including AED location and EMS access.
In an emergency the coach calls 911, then the parent, then the Athletic Director.
Lightning: all activity stops for 30 minutes after the last thunder or lightning.
Rationale
St. John Bosco lists emergency numbers and accident/injury procedures, and Wilmington includes a risk management assessment. I added a specific call order and lightning rule so coaches know exactly what to do.
A certified athletic trainer (ATC) attends all home varsity contests and is available after school daily.
Athletes seen by a physician must have written clearance before returning to play.
Rationale
Gilbert and Wilmington both describe athletic trainer and sports medicine services. I adopted their clearance requirement because it protects athletes and reduces liability for coaches.
Any athlete suspected of a concussion is removed immediately and may not return that day.
Return to play requires written physician clearance and a five-step graduated return supervised by the trainer.
Rationale
I added this area because Gilbert, Columbia and Temple Christian all include concussion protocols — it is a growing safety and legal issue. I chose the strictest version (no same-day return) because athlete safety outranks winning in our philosophy.
