Awards / Lettering / Recognition

  • Varsity letter: participate in at least 50% of varsity contests, finish the season in good standing, and return all equipment.
  • Annual awards: Royal Award (Christ-like character), Lion Heart (effort), Scholar-Athlete (3.5+ GPA), and team MVP.
  • Seniors who finish four years in a sport receive a commemorative plaque.

Rationale

Gilbert and Temple Christian describe lettering requirements, and Columbia offers scholar-athlete recognition. I named our top award after our mascot and made character the highest honor, so recognition reinforces the same philosophy as every other policy.
